A DJ is only human. They can fall ill, get stranded on a station platform, have something come up on the day.
That is not yours to deal with. It's in writing, and it's simple.
The text of our replacement commitment
Our commitment
If the booked artist can't make it, we immediately look for a replacement of the same tier from the roster, at no extra cost to you. In the vast majority of cases, we find one. If that isn't possible, you are told straight away and refunded in full, deposit included.
Same tier.
The replacement comes from the same tier as the booked artist. Not a stand-in found at the last minute: an artist from the roster, chosen by Freddy.
Same brief.
They arrive knowing everything you told us: the venue, the crowd, the timings, the tracks you want and the ones to avoid. You don't have to explain anything twice.
Same price.
The quote does not move. No replacement fee, no emergency surcharge, no extra travel costs for you to cover. And if nobody can be found, everything is refunded, deposit included.
Three typical situations
What happens, in practice.
Three things that do happen in this job, and what each one changes for you. They are examples to show how it works, not accounts of real nights.
The night before
Falling ill.
What happens
The artist booked for your wedding has a fever. They tell us, not you.
What we do
Freddy immediately looks for an artist of the same tier on the roster and passes on your brief and the venue's contact details.
What you do
Nothing. You read our message: who is coming instead. Nothing else changes. If nobody is free, you are told straight away and refunded in full, deposit included.
On the day, in the afternoon
A cancelled train.
What happens
The artist for your seminar is stuck at the station: their train has been cancelled.
What we do
If there is another way to get them there on time, we arrange it. If not, we look for an artist of the same tier, closer to the venue, to take the evening.
What you do
Nothing. You receive the name of who is coming and their arrival time. If nobody can get there in time, we tell you at once and refund you in full.
On the day, early evening
Something comes up on the day.
What happens
A family emergency, a minor accident on the road: the artist won't be able to play tonight.
What we do
We look first for someone on the roster as close to the venue as possible, at the same tier, and brief them while they are on their way.
What you do
Nothing, except pick up the phone: at that hour, we call, we don't write. If no replacement can come, you know straight away and are refunded in full, deposit included.
The limits, in writing too
What the commitment does not cover.
A commitment that promises everything promises nothing. Here is what falls outside it.
A cancellation on your side.
If you cancel or move the event, the cancellation terms of your quote apply.
An event made impossible from outside.
A closed venue, a ban from the local authorities, severe weather: there is no artist to replace. We talk it through with you, case by case.
A specific person.
The commitment covers a tier and a brief, not a name. That has been the principle of the roster from the start.
The venue's equipment.
If the sound system supplied by the venue, or by you, breaks down, that is not an artist replacement. The commitment covers an artist, not an installation.
Questions
The questions we get asked.
Does the replacement commitment cost anything?
No. It is included in every booking, for DJs and performers alike.
Who chooses the replacement?
Freddy, from the roster, at the same tier as the booked artist, with your brief in hand.
What if no replacement is available?
In the vast majority of cases, we find one. If that isn't possible, you are told straight away and refunded in full, deposit included.
How will I be told?
Straight away, by message or by phone, as soon as we find out. On the day of the event, always by phone.
What if the replacement is from a higher tier?
You do not pay the difference. The price stays as quoted.
Does the commitment apply to a residency in a club, hotel or restaurant?
Yes. For a venue, it is the very basis of the rotation: on every date, if the booked DJ can't play, we immediately look for a replacement of the same tier, at no extra cost. If none is found, that date is refunded in full. See what we offer venues.
